UGG BOOTS HISTORY

For more than 200 years, Australian manufacturers have been producing Ugg Boots, using the finest sheepskin and lamb wool materials. Ugg Boots, originated here, in Australia, have always been manufactured in small workshops and factories, from the good quality material grown in Australia. This has not changed to the present. Long time ago, Ugg Boots did not have hard soles, as their intention was to warm and provide relief for tired and exhausted feet. They were “ugly” (this is where their name ‘Ugg’ comes from), but essential piece of people’s footwear. Worn in the past by the Australian pilots, sheep shearers and gold miners, Ugg Boots have nowadays reached people around the world who recognise their quality and luxury, comfort and unique style. Unfortunately, great injustice has been done to the original Australian Ugg Boots by US Deckers Outdoor Corporation in the ‘90’s, when they trade marked the word Ugg and branded their product as “Original UGG Australia’ (even using ‘Australia’ and ‘Original’ in their name). Their Ugg boots could not be in any way associated with Australia and a material, without a doubt, of far lesser quality than Australian grown material. How to recognise 100% original Australian Ugg Boots? Australian Ugg Boots carry an “Australian Made” logo, a green triangle with the kangaroo attached to every Australian product, like the one displayed on our Home page. Australian manufacturers need to be accredited to use “Australian Made” logo. This is a valid proof the material used in production are capable of meeting strict customer standards.
